Our mother and greatest inspiration Alane Rebecca “Becky” Allred (Thiessen) passed away on October 29th, 2023 surrounded by love and family after a long battle with illness. She was born on June 12th, 1949 to Howard Martin “Scotty” Thiessen and Betty Jane Thiessen (Skinner). Alane attended Ely Grade School and White Pine High School where she was the leader of the Bobkettes Drill Team. Soon after graduating high school in 1967 she married Charles Blaine Allred and bought a cozy little home to start a family.
Since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be a mother. She had an affinity for children unlike anyone had ever seen and devoted her entire life to her children, grandchildren, and cared for and helped many others. Mom was a renaissance woman and could do many things with the most creative mind. She could do anything from working on vehicles, gardening, working with wood, and building, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. She could do it all, but her greatest talent aside from being a mother and grandmother was art. She was an incredibly talented artist. She could make something out of nothing. She has done portraits, scenery, and many other things. Those that knew her will confirm just how talented she was. She could make anything a masterpiece. She did everything so perfectly and beautifully. She took great care in any and everything that she did. There isn’t another like her. Her home was a sanctuary place for children. She didn’t bat an eye if there were toys on the floor or cartoons on the TV, or if her kids followed her around like lost puppies, or even put handprints in acrylic paint on her beautiful wood door. She loved every minute of it. She had immense patience and compassion. She did so much for others and most of the time they never knew it was her. She made many sacrifices for many people at the expense of herself. She was the most kind and nurturing soul, and we don’t think she knew how many people’s lives she impacted and how missed she will be. She had a soft heart with strength and courage that will forever inspire us. Even when she was suffering, she worried more about others. She was a light in this world, where there is so much darkness.
Alane “Becky” is survived by her younger brother H. Martin Thiessen, her loving children Shaun T. Allred, Aimee Lynn Allred Cook, Heather Noelle Allred Robertson, and her beloved grandchildren Clint (Gabby) Allred, Garret Allred, Austin (Kiara) Cook, Terra Cook, Levi Cook, Liam Allred, and Lilly Robertson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Blaine Allred, her parents Howard and Betty Thiessen, her sister Kathy (Kenny) Lanyland, and her son Logan T. Allred-Sanford
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ely City Cemetery Ely, Nevada.
