For one hundred seventeen years, the Ely Volunteer Fire & Emergency Medical Services, has been keeping the communities of White Pine County safe. In coordination with the City of Ely Fire Department staff, the Ely Volunteer Fire and EMS Department perform life-saving measures, on a daily basis. The difference between life and death is often the skills of one of the skilled volunteers that put their lives on the line to save ours. Those finely honed and highly trained talents are routinely sharpened and advanced through tireless efforts and real-life scenarios. The EVFD is one of the most committed organizations in this entire region. The history and legacy of the EVFD is paramount to the longevity of our city and its surrounding county. This December, please consider generously gifting the Ely Volunteer Fire Department a donation in order for them to continue teaching, training, and taking on the challenges of being first responders.
On December 16th, from 9:00 am until the sun goes down, The EVFD and City of Ely Fire Department personnel will be walking Door-to-Door, carrying on the one hundred seventeen year tradition of the city wide House-to-House. Boots on the ground, these men and women first responders enjoy taking this annual opportunity to meet the people they serve. This fundraising opportunity will also give back to lucky winners of a special Raffle that will give away over $1000. Raffle tickets will be available during the House-to-House to everyone that answers their door! The winners will be announced via a Facebook Live Stream on Christmas Eve.

Always accepting new recruits who want to help serve their community in meaningful ways, there’s no time like the present to join a life changing and life saving group of people. Whether serving as a headquarters for coordinating life saving trainings for outlying area departments, providing scholarships to White Pine High School students, teaching fire safety to elementary schoolers, or hosting annual community events such as the Fourth of July Cornhole tournament, EVFD BBQ Dinner, during the opening night of the White Pine Horse Races, it takes volunteers to drive the greatest benefits enjoyed by the populations at large.
