It’s time Ely and all of rural Nevada get used to the “F” word, and that word is FENTANYL! Why? Because the drug is here, and it’s killing people and ruining families. Clean and sober advocates have indicated that White Pine County has had three Fentanyl related deaths, and numerous overdoses, that were revived with Narcan, in the past six months alone. What does Fentenyl have to do with the incident that took place on January 10th you might ask? Alot! But first, let’s take a look at the WPCSO Blotter for those who haven’t read it.

On January 10, 2024 at approximately 12:27 p.m. the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots being fired at an individual’s residence located in Ely, Nevada. When Deputies arrived on scene the reporting party stated that an individual who was identified as Adele S. Mohammednur, age 43 of Ely Nevada had shot at the reporting party while inside his home. Deputies located evidence at the scene that corroborated the reporting parties report. A. Mohammednur had fled the scene before deputies had arrived. Deputies located A. Mohammednur operating a vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop. A. Mohammednur fled, traveling on US 6 west. A pursuit of A. Mohammednur continued into Nye County and was assisted by the Nevada State Police, Nye County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nevada Department of Parole and Probation. During the pursuit, A. Mohammednur left the highway and drove down an unmaintained dirt roadway. He attempted to drive over a large dirt embankment which caused him to lose control of his vehicle, causing a vehicle crash. A. Mohammednur was then taken into custody. A. Mohmmednur was arrested for attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, kidnapping, and evading a police officer. He is being held on $500,000. bail at the White Pine County Detention Facility.

Now, numerous sources and a private informant who wishes to remain anonymous, have alleged and/or asserted that Adele Mohammednur and his spouse Meghan Mohamednur, who was the passenger, are just two of the many known Fentanyl dealers who live in Ely and/or the surrounding areas. It has also been alleged that Mr. Mohammednur had become extremely aggressive, over the past six months, due to his own drug use and paranoia. Sources alleged that is what caused the October 10th incident along with rumors of money owed. As stated in the above press release Mohammmednur is being charged with attempted murder as no one was shot or killed; it is alleged that shots were fired, by suspect, into an occupied residence.
