Time is running out to enter the Bristlecone Animal Aid, Rescue & Xpress (BAARX) raffle with a chance to win one of two gift baskets, each valued at more than $600.

The drawing will be held January 31. Winners will be contacted by telephone and their names posted on BAARX’s Facebook page.
BAARX is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization whose goal is helping animals in need while working toward building an animal shelter in White Pine County. Since its inception in 2018, the volunteer organization has established seven programs that provide for a wide variety of animals, mostly dogs and cats.
Through the Transport Program, the non-profit networks and transports to no-kill shelters elsewhere adoptable animals in the City of Ely’s animal control facility. The Foster & Adoption Program provides foster care services for multiple sources, including animal control when at or exceeding capacity.
Rehoming Network Assistance uses social and private networking to rehome animals. Similarly, Lost & Found Assistance uses social media to help reunite pets with their owners and to search for missing pets, when possible.
Ownerless Animal Emergency Vet Care pays for much-needed veterinary care for animals who are found or that arrive at animal control sick or injured. Pet Food Assistance provides temporary help with pet food to those in need.
BAARX’s newest program, Noodle’s Fireworks Awareness, named for Noodle who went missing early last year after a fireworks display, helps notify pet owners beforehand of upcoming fireworks activities.
