White Pine posted five different innings of at least six runs across the doubleheader sweep against the Cougars.
Last week, White Pine High School played two baseball games Friday at home against Laughlin, who was coming off back-to-back wins.

However, Bobcats head coach Quinn Ewell and his team had other plans for the Lions. White Pine won both games of the doubleheader in landslide fashion with 22-3 and 15-0 victories.
In the first game, White Pine had back-to-back six-run innings and had an 11-run lead after two innings. That led to a nine-run fourth to close the game.
Nearly the whole varsity roster got at least one plate appearance as 16 different Bobcats touched home plate at least once. Sophomore Jacob Derbidge led the Bobcats, going 3-for-3 with one double, a home run, three RBIs, two runs scored and a hit by pitch.
In addition to Derbidge hitting a home run, sophomore Maddox Sedlacek hit one out of the park for a three-run shot in his lone hit of the day. Sedlacek was also one of 11 players to steal at least one base, creating havoc on the base paths.
Junior Jacob Hall went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored.
On the mound, Sedlacek pitched two innings, while allowing one hit and an unearned run while striking out five. Senior Jackson Armstrong threw an inning and allowed two hits, an unearned run with one strikeout. Taking the other inning was sophomore Levi Faris, who gave up a hit, an earned run, a walk and two hit by pitches, while fanning two hitters.
In the second game, White Pine’s offense showed no signs of slowing down, while Hall and senior Dylan Cessford combined for a four-inning no-hitter in the 15-0 win. Hall and Cessford each threw two innings as Hall surrendered one base on balls while the duo combined to strike out seven.
Offensively, senior Maverick Mangum went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI with a hit by pitch. Mangum, Hall and senior Tucker Maestes recorded three stolen bases each as it marked nine of the team’s 15 steals.
Junior Daniel Highline provided a two-run home run in the win as Armstrong and Sedlacek each recorded triples.
With the two victories, White Pine moves to 11-7 overall and 6-2 in 2A South play. After a non-league game Tuesday against Round Mountain, the Bobcats begin their four most critical games of the season beginning with two on the road at Needles on Friday before two at home to end the regular season against Lake Mead in a couple weeks.
White Pine enters this week one game behind both Lake Mead and Needles in the league standings, making them still in contention for the league title.
First pitch for the two-game doubleheader is slated for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday against Needles.
