The Jailhouse Motel and Casino has been a Downtown Ely landmark for decades. Situated inside this historic business is one of the more unique dining establishments, around, a favorite of visitors and locals alike. When the Cellblock Steakhouse closed not long ago, many feared the diminishment of downtown and felt a loss for the community. Hector Briceño understood those sentiments and sought out a solution. After months of hard work, Hector’s Cellblock Steakhouse has resurrected, rejuvenated and reopened the space with an upscale ambiance that incorporates elements of its location’s history.

The White Pine Chamber of Commerce is proud to represent and partner with Hector on his other culinary ventures, Mr. Gino’s Italian Restaurant and Bar. Now those establishments, and Hector’s Cellblock Steakhouse will operate next door to each other and both will support downtown in the mission to bring new life and offerings to the historic business district. The new Hector’s Cellblock Steakhouse will also accept White Pine Chamber Bucks to support the residents of White Pine in their pursuit of great food.

Patrons that have enjoyed the soft opening have already tasted the quality cuisine and enjoyed the same Old West jailhouse setting that created the original distinctive dining experience. Guests will also notice an enhanced element of style, with table linens, soft music, and an especially curated menu. Particularly renowned already for its quality steaks, which are often cooked to perfection and served with a variety of sides and sauces, diners are offered a range of options to cater to different tastes and preferences, include seafood, salads, and other meat dishes.

With friendly service and the overall atmosphere, which blends the history of the location with a comfortable and welcoming dining environment, both tourists and locals will find Hector’s Cellblock Steakhouse stands out not only for its cuisine but also for its setting and the historical charm of dining in a place with an intriguing backstory.
