The saying that women run the world is one that rings true here in White Pine County. During a two day White Pine Small Business Resource Expo, while entrepreneurs, business owners, venture capitalists, and job seekers take advantage of the first resource fair of its kind in Eastern Nevada in over a decade, women will also be able to attend a special discussion panel to hear from and speak to women leaders from the local, state, and national levels of both business and government. Following this special program at the Rural Women Leadership Summit on November 4th, the White Pine Chamber of Commerce will honor local women at the inaugural White Pine Women Leadership Awards Banquet. Mothers, sisters, daughters, women from every walk of life, every industry, and background, are invited to attend.
Operating from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm each day, Friday November 3rd and Saturday the 4th, the White Pine Chamber of Commerce will host this hybrid event, bringing together 25 organizations and entities from all over the state. All gathering to provide insight, expertise, and advice for small businesses and entrepreneurs to gain the support necessary for starting, building, rebranding, or expanding commerce in White Pine County.
White Pine’s Small Business Resource Expo will be open and free to everyone. Whether you are searching for start-up capital, expansion financing, tax breaks, grants, employee assistance, or you are needing a new local job or career change. Folks can also attend to explore the many state agencies looking to expand their workforce during this Hiring and Career Fair, with EmployNV, JOIN, Vocational Rehab and more.
This event is brought to you by the White Pine Chamber of Commerce and the City of Ely, with support from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office of Small Business Advocacy. Every small business in the region will benefit by attending this event, to network with organizations that can assist them in bettering their services, finding and hiring help, training staff, and/or getting critical funding for their entrepreneurial endeavors. Whether you are just starting out or are a small business veteran looking to grow, this is the event to attend.
Extra features of this White Pine Small Business Resource Expo are educational seminars and breakout sessions being provided each day by experts and industry professionals, designed to directly instruct on the economically important matters that impact our rural businesses. Rural Nevada Development Corp, Small Business Development Centers, the Secretary of State’s Office, the City of Ely, and the Small Business Administration (SBA) are all slated to provide panels to answer your important questions about running a business. A Chamber Members Mixer is also scheduled for Friday evening for current members and those looking to join.
The White Pine Women Leadership Awards Banquet will be the cherry on a busy two days of informative networking events. This inaugural award has seen over three hundred community members cast their votes for their top female nominees in eight categories, from Excellence in Government, Agriculture, Education, and Community Service, to outstanding leadership in Mining, Tourism, as well as nominating White Pine’s Woman of the Year. This banquet will also feature a dynamic women-led business with Sugar, Salt, and Malt preparing a carefully selected menu to honor so many exceptional women in White Pine County.
