Colleen Riding Ashby

December 13, 2024 by Bristlecone Tribune Leave a Comment

June 2, 1933 -December 7, 2024

Our mother gained her angel wings on December 7, 2024 she will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis F Ashby, her parents Eulalla (Lalla) and Edwin Taylor Riding. Her siblings Thelma, Thomas, Burdell, Mary, Luena, Max, Evan, Norma, and Otto (Dale). Mom was the youngest daughter of 10. What a joyous reunion they will have. And her best travel buddy Lueine (Lou) Allred.

She is survived by her Children: Vicki(e); Lou Ann (LuAnn) and Richard; Jodi and Dan West; Rick and Jenn Ashby; Shane and Irene Ashby. 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and one on the way. She was very proud of her 5 generation of girls.

Mom had a variety of jobs. From Hilltop Motel, Pick and Pack Market, Hilltop Drug, Wilson Bates Furniture, and much to LuAnn’s dismay White Pine County High School. But her favorite was Nevada Northern Railway. She served as Pink Lady at William Bee Ririe Hospital for 20 plus years and was their president for 10. She was honored as volunteer of the year for her services there.

Mom had a wonderful full life. And more memories than we can list here. She will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ely Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 900 Avenue E Ely, Nevada. Burial will follow at the Ely City Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the White Pine County Nutrition Program, 1000 Campton St, Ely NV 89301.
