Osman Karzam Herrera and Kendra Anne Derbidge have been named Students of the Month for February, according to Ely Elks Lodge #1469.
Kendra Anne Derbidge and Osman Karzam Herrera are named the Elks Students of the month for February 2025.
Herrera, age 18, is the son of Mireya Medina and Osman Herrera of Ely. Derbidge, age 18, is the daughter of Samuel and Leslie Derbidge of Ely. Both are Seniors at White Pine High School and will graduate with the Class of 2025.
The Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding students in the area.
Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of Students of the Month.
Herrera has been active in football and JAG. His hobbies are football, riding, photography, editing and gym.
Derbidge has been active in softball as captain of the varsity volleyball team, National Honors Society and as Treasurer for Jobs for American Graduates. Her hobbies are softball, painting, baking, cooking, shopping, drawing, creating digital artwork,outfits and volleyball.
