Donna Mae Sims

January 8, 2024 by Bristlecone Tribune 2 Comments

Donna Mae (Eldridge) Sims, 89, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. Donna was born in Ely, Nevada, on August 21, 1934, the fourth of eight children to Ida and Donald Eldridge. Our Mom grew up in Ely, Nevada, but attended college in California. She loved Nevada and her vast extended family. Mom was an exceptional seamstress and made all our clothes and cheerleading uniforms when we were young. Our Mom crocheted many afghans, cross-stitch pictures, and Christmas Stockings for all her children and grandchildren.

Donna is predeceased by her father, Donald Eldridge; her mother, Ida Eldridge; her sister, Juanita Miller; and brothers, Johnny, Donald Dee, and Tommy Eldridge. Donna is survived by her daughters, Dawn Marie Leyva (Rich), Denise Conwell (William), and Dusty Durkee (David); son Stanley Sims (Lisa), brothers George (Linda) and Jerry (Candy) Eldridge, sister Uvada Wilkin (Jim) & sister-in-law Lori Eldridge; grandchildren: Chrisstan (Miguel) Betancourt, David (Katie) Durkee, Melissia McCain, Alexia (Ed) Probst, Andreya (Brad) Wilkerson, Savannah McMeekin, Justin Sims, Colton (Melissa) Sims, and Mikayla Sims; great-grandchildren: Parker, Emerson, Hazel, and McKinley.

We will miss you Mom, but we know you’re in a better place. God did not know what he was in for when he took you;) Now you’re with your brothers, mom & dad & cousins. We are pretty sure that it was a great big party when you got there.

Love Dawn Marie, Rich, Chrissy & Miggy
