Ely Children’s Community Theater (ECCT) is going to perform a double feature of comedy murder mysteries. The two plays are Death of a Dead Guy by William L. Bowman, Jr. and the Murder Mystery at the Murder Mystery by Brian D. Taylor. The cast of both performances totals 24 kids.
Now, interviews from two cast members. The first one was Ty Vogler, he is twelve years old and has big dreams for the future in acting. He has two years acting experience and plays Detective Pete Cannon. His favorite thing is being a funny character. The second interview was with Kathryn Crosby. She is thirteen years old, has five years acting experience and plays the part of May Fielding. Her favorite thing to do in the play is to be sassy.
The plays are going to be at the Ely United Methodist Church (EUMC), at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th, 15th, and 16th, and a matinee at 2:00 p.m., on March 16th. EUMC is located at 1100 S. Pioche Hwy., Ely, Nevada. The tickets are available online at www.elychildrenscommunitytheater.ludus.com or at the door. Adult tickets cost eight dollars each and children 14 and under get in for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
ECCT started in 2015. “Into the Woods,” “Cats,” “Newsies” and “Sound of Music” are a few examples of plays the theater has performed. ECCT has partnered with KDSS 92.7 FM, for a few radio dramas in the past. These include “Sherlock Holmes and the Sussex Vampire” and the “Color From Outer Space”. ECCT also performed ten minute adaptations of Shakespeare plays by Compact Shakespeare.
The double feature is sponsored by EUMC, Spring Valley Wind (Pattern Energy), KGHM, Bristlecone Tribune, Bill and Holly Wilson, and Ely Lions Club.
