Ely Elks Lodge #1469 has made Christmas a little brighter for kids and families in White Pine County with their recent donations to several schools, Mt. Wheeler Power and theWhite Pine Boys and Girls Club.
In October of this year the Elks gave Tony Enriques and the White Pine Boys and Girls Club $1,300 for their annual fundraiser and attended their awards banquet.
Tuesday, December 6 the Elks gave $500 to the David E. Norman Angel Tree with several members attending the presentation. School Counselor Amy Newman accepted the donation from the Elks.
The Elks next presented Lynn Sorensen and Christina Sawyer of Mt. Wheeler Power $700 for Mt. Wheeler’s Santa’s Elves Tree for the kids and residents of White Pine County.
Elks Treasurer Matt Hibbs visited McGill Elementary School on December 6 and presented a check for $200 for the McGill School’s Angel Tree.
In addition to their Christmas donations, the Elks recently completed their annual Hoop Shoot and will be sending the six Hoop Shoot champions to Austin, NV, on January 27 to compete in the Central District competition.
