Ely kicks off the Christmas season with a weekend of fun events

On Friday, December 13, the big guy himself, Santa Claus, will be at the White Pine County Library from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Stop by, take pictures and tell him what you would like for Christmas!

After a full week of Festival of Trees, voting on donated and decorated Christmas trees at the Bristlecone Convention Center, the day finally comes for the auction on Friday, December 6th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This event is hosted by the Great Basin Service Club annually to raise money for Christmas decorations for the entire community to enjoy every year. Enjoy a full bar, hors d’oeuvres and the live band, Greg Gilmore and Friends. The band is from Reno and his sound is witty and engaging with a west Texas rock/swing sound.

On Saturday, December 7th, head back to the Bristlecone Convention Center for the Annual Christmas Crafters Festival and enjoy all handcrafted gifts and food from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Santa will be available for photo ops with the kiddos!

The Ely Senior Center will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar from 10:00am – 2:00pm. also on December 7.

Don’t forget to head to Lund for the Lund Annual Christmas Bazaar at the Lund Community Center from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Come and get all your Christmas shopping done at these events and support local crafters and vendors!

Also on Saturday, December 7 is the “Miracle on Aultman Street” Annual Christmas Parade starting at 4:30pm. If you would like to register for the parade, please call KDSS at 775-289-6474. Following the parade, meet at Sculpture Park for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Listen to music and visit with Santa while enjoying the lights on the beautiful Community Christmas Tree.
