The Nevada Northern Railway and the White Pine Public Museum invite all White Pine County residents to join in celebrating White Pine Weekend, an annual event honoring the region’s rich heritage. This year’s festivities will take place on April 5th and 6th—completely free of charge!
White Pine County residents can ride for free behind Locomotive 93 twice on White Pine Weekend, Saturday at 1:00 pm and Sunday at 11:30 am.
Residents are welcome to explore the Nevada Northern Railway Museum and its historic grounds free of charge on both days. Additionally, the White Pine Public Museum will offer free admission on Saturday, April 5th as part of the celebration.
Exciting free train rides await! On Saturday, April 5th, guests can take a journey aboard our 1930s Brill Doodlebug 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM to the White Pine Public Museum and back to the Nevada Northern Railway — ping-pong anyone? There will be a Steam Excursion to Robinson Canyon at 1:00 PM. The festivities continue on Sunday, April 6th, with another Steam Excursion to Robinson Canyon at 11:30 AM.
“White Pine Weekend is our way of bringing history back to life for our residents,” said Mark Bassett, President of the Nevada Northern Railway. “This special weekend allows the community to immerse themselves in the legacy of railroading and the pioneering spirit that built White Pine County.”
Tickets for excursion rides are available at the Nevada Northern Railway 30 minutes before departure. Tickets for admission to the White Pine Public Museum are available at the museum, where proof of residency will also be required.
