
Jeffrey Roy Signor, known as “JR Holliday” and “JD” to many, passed away at his home in Ely, Nevada on November 2, 2023. He was 71. Jeffrey was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September of 1952 and later became the child of Bernard and Esther Signor.
Jeffrey attended school and graduated from Creston High School. He went on to higher education at Davenport University. Jeffrey tried his hand at marriage, but the deck wasn’t dealt in his favor and he had to fold. These unions did give him his children, one daughter and one son. He enjoyed portraying Doc Holiday and volunteered countless hours to the Nevada Northern Railway in this capacity. He was also a member of the Ghost Riders organization, often assisting in their events as well. Jeffrey was a proud employee of the Ely State Prison and had served there for over 15 years.
Jeffrey is preceded in death by his sister Virginia Signor, his mother Esther Signor and his father Bernard Signor. He is survived by his daughter Dawn and his son Jeff Jr., five grandchildren; Aleya, Dylan, Hayley, Karleigh, and Bree, sister Jan (Carol) Hulett, beloved friend Lorraine Meyer, and his dog Ringo.
