It might not have been the outcome the White Pine girls basketball team had wanted, losing in the 2A South League playoffs, but the Ladycats showed that they were one of the top teams in the division.

White Pine, who finished third in the 2A South regular season standings, came up short in a 37-25 loss in the semifinals to No. 2 Lincoln County at Green Valley Christian High School on Valentine’s Day.
This came after the Ladycats advanced to the semifinals by defeating No. 6 Awakened Christian, 55-11 on Feb. 13.
For head coach Heather Hamilton, she had a roster full of underclassmen that went 19-8 overall and 13-3 in league play, including a home, 46-43 overtime win against Lincoln County on Jan. 4.
That was part of a stretch where White Pine won six straight games and nine of 10.
