Lance Patrick Burns of Ely, Nevada passed away September 6, 2023. He was born July 16, 1964, in Ely, Nevada to Jack and Mary Burns.
Lance grew up in Ely and lived there most of his life. He attended White Pine High School. Lance worked for several mines in Nevada, Utah, and Idaho as a heavy equipment operator over a period of more than 30 years. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting, fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles with his family and friends. Lance particularly enjoyed fishing with his sons.
Lance is survived by his children: Thomas Griffin and Joshua Griffin of Ely; brother Mark Burns (wife Pam) of Reno; sister Jackie Catania (husband Joey) of Sparks; nieces Amber, Allison, Emily, and Kami Jo; and friend Tabitha Richey. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Burns as well as his children Kassie Jo and Brad Allen Burns.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lance on Saturday September 23, 2023, at the Elks Lodge in Ely, NV at 2pm.
