The holiday countdown is well underway, with Christmas now less than two weeks away. Aultman Street is decorated with lovely lights and garlands, store windows are filled with gift ideas, and the community Christmas tree is lit in the center of town.

Local residents have a chance to enjoy this festive season in style by dressing as revelers from the 19th century and kicking up their heels at the Fezziwig Ball on December 14.
Spectators got a glimpse of what the Fezziwig evening will offer, as they watched the gingerbread Centennial Fine Arts make its way down Aultman Street, followed by the float with the one horse open sleigh driven by Bill and Holly Wilson, heading toward 910 Aultman for an evening of fun, feasting, and dancing.
In Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Mr. Fezziwig halts all work as darkness falls on Christmas Eve. He and his employees clear the warehouse floor for the employee Christmas party, and all join in the merrymaking.
Anthony Ithurralde, White Pine Community Choir member and Fezziwig Ball host, is looking forward to welcoming party goers to White Pine’s version of a Victorian England Christmas party.
“It’s exciting to be able to showcase the Centennial Fine Arts Center for this special event,” said Ithurralde. “It is such a striking building. You go up the flight of stairs from the small entrance foyer, and then you walk into a grand room meant to awe and inspire. The building provides the perfect kind of drama for the ball.”
The White Pine Community Choir Association, which owns the historic Fine Arts Center, is delighted to sponsor the Fezziwig Ball, and is very grateful to community members and the White Pine County Tourism and Recreation Board for their support of the event.
