Laurie Ann Goff Norlander was born September 14, 1960 in Ely, Nevada to Maynard LaMont Goff and Sadie Elizabeth Goff. She passed away peacefully at her home in Ely on January 12, 2024.
Laurie was raised in McGill, Nevada where she attended McGill Elementary School and graduated from White Pine High School in 1978. She had two children; son Jeremy Zeman of Spring Creek, Nevada and daughter Shasta (Russell) Drake of Ely, Nevada.
Laurie married Michael Norlander on May 24, 2010 and they made their home in Ely. She loved to go camping with Mike and their friends, spending time on a 4-wheeler or side-by-side looking for antler sheds for her crafts. Laurie was well known for her crafts and spent hours making wreaths for everyone she loved. She enjoyed spending time at home with her dogs Punky and Mindy; they went everywhere with her.
Laurie is preceded in death by her father Maynard LaMont Goff and Step father Ralph Vaugh Goff.
She is survived by her loving husband Michael Norlander and her children Jeremy and Shasta; mother Sadie Elizabeth Goff, sisters Sadie (Andy) McVicars, Ranae (Melissa Doughty) Goff; brothers Maynard Allan (Diana) Goff, Ralph (Colleen) Goff, and Rick (Sherri) Goff.
Laurie is also survived by her grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Mike’s niece Heather Petersen Allen.
Laurie’s wishes were to be cremated and buried with her father Maynard LaMont Goff. A graveside service to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:00pm at the upper level of the Ely City Cemetery.
