The Lund Mustangs had their first preseason tournament this past weekend at the 22nd annual WREC Classics. The tournament is set in three different locations, Carlin, Wells and West Wendover.
The Mustangs spent the first two days playing in Carlin. On November 30th they played the Elko JV team. The Lady Mustangs fell to the Elko JV 31 – 11. The boys team had better luck in their first game winning 39 – 24.
The second day they traveled back to Carlin to play Tonopah. The girls fought their hearts out in a close game but lost 21 – 18. The boys team was able to completely shut out the Muckers, finishing the game 45-10.

The 3rd day the teams traveled to West Wendover to play their final games with Wendover JV and West Wendover. The boys played Wendover JV first stomping them with a final score of 47-21. The Lady Mustangs played Wendover’s Varsity losing the game 47-22.
The last game of the weekend was played against West Wendover. The girls team fought hard but lost the game 37-17. The boys team ran the floor and left the tournament undefeated beating West Wendover 52-34.
Their next preseason tournament is scheduled for this weekend in Beaver Dam.
