With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Monica Sue (Beager) Corbin, age 53, of Ely, Nevada, who left us on February 9, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Monica was born August 5th, 1971 in Ely, Nevada, to William (Bill) Beager and Carol (Reck) Beager. She graduated from White Pine High School, attended nursing school briefly, and completed the barber program at The Barber School located in Midvale, Utah. Monica was a spirited daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, known for her character and personality.
Above all, Monica was a proud mother to two sons: Jacob Lee Stark and Jeremiah Patrick Corbin. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren, Kristyn and Nash.
Monica had a colorful and varied career. She worked at Mt. Wheeler Power for a time and spent many years as a haul truck driver at the local mine. In recent years, she worked as the local barber and even spent time at the Ely Senior Center, preparing meals for others. In her youth, Monica was a valued team member of the White Pine Girls Varsity Basketball team, and she also enjoyed playing volleyball and being an active member of 4-H.
She had a creative soul, always staying busy with her various projects—scrapbooking, card making, sewing, and crocheting. Monica cherished antiques and keepsakes, filling her home with memories and treasures that reflected her humor and love for the past. She loved the outdoors, especially rides over Success Loop and trips to Sunny Side with her family. She enjoyed camping, hunting, playing horseshoes, going to the horse races, watching the rodeo, as well as going out to get wood. Monica valued hard work and independence.
Monica had a way of turning every gathering into a celebration, filling it with laughter, music, and carefree energy that never seemed to fade. Her spirit was contagious, and she could bring joy to anyone she met. She loved life and people, and she made friends wherever she went with her kindness, friendly demeanor, and unforgettable personality.
She leaves behind her two beloved sons, Jacob Lee Stark (Dusty) and Jeremiah Patrick Corbin; her father, Bill Beager; sisters Lisa Myers (Tim) and Angela Petersen (Tye); two cherished grandchildren, Kristyn and Nash Stark; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and nephews.
Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Carol.
A Celebration of Life for Monica is scheduled for August 1st, with more details to follow. Monica’s memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
