Quilts for Veterans

December 10, 2023 by Sasha Horsley Leave a Comment

On Veterans Day the Ely Elks Lodge #1469 hosted a dinner for local Veterans.

The lodge was filled with men and women that served our country. There was also a table set out honoring POW-MIA.

During the dinner “Thank You” cards for our local Veterans were given out to the Veterans in attendance. These cards were hand crafted by the students from David E Norman Elementary, organized by Raymond Andre.

During the dinner, blankets, made and donated by The Sage Brush Quilt Guildwere handed out to the Veterans.

The Sage Brush Quilt Guild will be distributing more quilts after the holidays.

The Ely Elks Lodge had a great turnout, and it was a wonderful way to honor these heroes.

Veterans were able to leave the Veterans Day dinner with handmade quilts thanks to the Sagebrush Quilters.
