Steve passed away suddenly at his home in Sparks, Nevada.
Stephen was the second son and youngest child of Joseph P. Timko Sr. and Florence Mazur Timko.
Steve grew up in McGill, Nevada and graduated from McGill Grade School in 1975 and White Pine County High School in 1979 before earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1983. His career in Journalism spanned four decades and included: The Ely Daily Times; The Sparks Tribune; Reno Gazette Journal; USA Today, Washington Bureau; and KOLO in Reno.
Steve is preceded in death by both parents.
The youngest of five children, he is survived by an older brother, three sisters, and multiple nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
