Ernie was born on July 5, 1952, in Albuquerque, NM to Ernest “Ernie” Rivera and Andrellita “Andi” Lucero Rivera. In 1955, the family moved to East Ely, NV; to accompany grandpa Epifanio “Happy” Rivera, a local sheepherder and resident of the late 1930’s.
