Chamber Highlight: –Trick or Treat the Street–

October 26, 2024 by Bristlecone Tribune Leave a Comment

Combining Commerce and candy, Downtown Ely and area businesses are opening their doors and welcoming in ghastly ghouls and goblins on Friday, October 25th. From Noon until 4:00 pm Ely’s Trick or Treat the Street will be celebrating the community through costumes, decorations, music, treats, and maybe even a few tricks. Generous small businesses will be handing out candy and more during the day, marking one of the busiest pedestrian traffic days of the year. The White Pine Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to participate and help organize the event, providing a list of contributing business locations.

From one end of Ely to the other, costumed creatures craving candy can venture out into the city and discover stores, shops, retailers, restaurants, and organizations that help make Ely and White Pine County a scarily fun and fulfilling place to call home. This annual tradition is a terrific way for local businesses to engage with the community, and the community can thank these businesses by continuing to shop small and shop local.

Walking from the west end, make sure to pop in to: JW Electric, KRM Auto Repair, Taproot, This and That, Wilson Bates, The Grooming Lounge, Garnet Merchantile, Let’s Print & More, The Jailhouse, Smash & Grab Burger, The Bristlecone Convention Center, Calibre Mining Office, Elysium Salon, Jay’s Music Exchange, The Boys & Girls Club, The Magnussen Hotel, Park View Motel, Sportsworld, H&R Block, Desert Rose Ceramics, Cruise In Auto, WaFd Bank, Bruno’s, LaQuinta Hotel, Bristlecone Tribune, The Cozy Cup @ the Prospector, and finish up at William Bee Ririe Hospital & Health Clinic.

Make sure to stop at the Chamber of Commerce, where we and: Robertson Optometry, the Church of Latter Day Saints, Sahara Motors, and Ely Learning Bridge will all be set up curbside to help add to the loot collection. The White Pine County Library will also be a main stop along the trail for the march of the walking dead, with a whole host of area businesses gathering on the court house lawn: Nevada Bank & Trust, Hotel Nevada, Judge Stephen Bishop, the Department of Child & Family Services, The Nevada Northern Railway, Standby Medical Services, Creative Touch Salon, Magic Carpet Preschool, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and Great Nevada Credit Union, 4-H, KGHM, The White Pine Sheriffs’s Office Association, as well as Great Basin College’s Student Nursing Organization.

Festive and fun for the whole family, be sure to THANK these generous businesses and community organizations that are volunteering their time and candy money to build a wholesome tradition that builds connections and supports an engaging and worthwhile place to live. Trick or Treat Safely. Watch for vehicles. And please Be kind to all the ghosts and gremlins out there.
