In January 2024, Justice of the Peace, Stephen Bishop was presented with an educational award by Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court, Elissa Cadish.
The award recognizes Achievement in Judicial Education and commends Judge Bishop’s valuable personal contribution to improvement of the quality of the judiciary in the State of Nevada.
Throughout the past 12 years, Judge Bishop has been at the forefront of judicial education in Nevada. He has shared the stage with Chief Justice James Hardesty (retired) of the Nevada Supreme Court at educational courses, including a symposium held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ Boyd School of Law. He regularly teaches at seminars sponsored by the educational unit of the Nevada Supreme Court and the Nevada Association for Career Court Advancement. Judge Bishop also earned a juris doctorate law degree from UC Davis and is a dual alumni of the University of Nevada, Reno, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree and, in 2022, a Master’s of Judicial Studies (Trial Judges).
